Mr Rob Laycock
Medical Director & Maxillofacial Consultant
Mr Laycock graduated from the University of Manchester and underwent basic surgical training in general surgery and Ear Nose and Throat before Specialising in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Mr Laycock underwent sub-specialist training in Skin Cancer and Cosmetic surgery and completed a fellowship in Cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He has undergone further training in Rhinoplasty and Orthognathic surgery in the USA and the Netherlands.
Mr Laycock was appointed at both Aintree and Ormskirk Hospital in August 2013. He practices the full range of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a specialist interest in skin cancer, nasal reconstruction and post-traumatic facial deformity. He is a core member of the Liverpool Skin Cancer MDT at Broadgreen Hospital and Southport and Ormskirk.
Mr Laycock has a post-graduate qualification in teaching and education and is involved in the Aesthetic MSc Module for the University of Liverpool Medical School. He is an examiner with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and has examined here within the UK and Internationally. He is also the Training Program director for Junior Trainees in the North West.
Dr Jane Long
MBChb
Since graduating from Liverpool University Medical School Jane has gained experience in Acute Medicine, Orthopaedics & Obstetrics & Gynaecology but her passion has always been skin.
Jane is fully accredited with CO2 laser technique, producing excellent results in skin rejuvenation. She has brought her passion for aesthetics & medical expertise to the Pinewoods Clinic not forgetting her advanced level of Botox & filler skills.
Dr Tiberiu Bontea
Dr Bontea qualified as consultant dermatologist back in 2013 in Romania. His passion for skin cancer brought him to the UK in 2014 and since he worked as dermatologist in Ormskirk, Aintree, Broadgreen , Salford and Chester.
He developed his skin cancer expertise by participating in advanced surgery courses in Europe ( EADV) and advanced dermoscopy and confocal dermatoscopy.
He currently has mostly skin cancer assessments and treatment in his job plan.
He specialised in advanced head and neck surgery and he is skilled in flaps, wide local excision and skin grafts.
During his time in Ormskirk Hospital he became phototherapy lead and developed the service for his eczema and psoriasis patients. He continued his work with photography in Aintree Hospital where he currently works.
Dr Bontea also enjoys the cosmetic side of dermatology and performs various treatments- Botox , fillers, chemical peel, laser treatment just to name a few.
Mr David Houghton
Maxillofacial Consultant
Mr Houghton is a dual qualified Maxillofacial Consultant having graduated from the Universities of Leeds and York in Dentistry and Medicine respectively. He underwent basic surgical training in General Surgery, Neurosurgery and Ear Nose and Throat before specialising in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery having ranked first place in the UK national recruitment process.
Mr Houghton subsequently trained at the internationally recognised maxillofacial units of the Liverpool Head and Neck Centre (Aintree University Hospital) and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital whilst developing his sub-specialty interests in skin cancer, post-traumatic facial deformity and facial plastic surgery. He has undergone further training in Rhinoplasty, Orthognathic and Facial Plastic Surgery in both the UK and Europe. In April 2021 he was awarded a Fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons in the speciality of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
Mr Houghton has also undertaken post graduate training in medical education and teaching and remains enthusiastically involved in the training of junior colleagues and allied health professionals, as well as in admissions process for University of Liverpool Medical School and national recruitment for the Surgical Deanery in the Northwest.
